I took a derivative of the Honda Civic Type RR function VTEC^2.

It’s simply 2VTEC (VTEC is =x) here’s the work/post: You’re going to fucking hate me for so here it goes:

The derivative of VTEC^2 is

F(VTEC+h) as h->0= (VTEC+H)^2-VTEC^2 all over h

This then equals VTEC^2+2VTEC(H)+H^2-VTEC^2 all over H

VTEC^2 cancel, H’s cancel and you’re left with F’(VTEC)=2VTEC

So yes the VTEC kicks in Twice YO

So 2VTEC is the acceleration function, VTEC^2 is of its velocity.

Um..or you know to make it easier.

f(x) = VTEC^2

f’(x) = 2VTEC

Much cleaner that way.

OR

derivative of that derivative

f’’(x) = 2

So..in the end you just get left with 2 and no VTEC. Sorry.

Derivative if a variable squared is the 2xh part right?

I think it's describing its power

Not in it any more. Graduated. But the first time I learned derivatives was hell...Integrals were easier and you learn that AFTER.

Yeah, fuck all this math stuff.

(I was an English major. The only math class I took in college was algebra.)

I spent my whole college career being asked what I was going to do with my degree. I chose it because I was good at writing papers about books I hadn’t necessarily read.

Now I do absolutely nothing related to my degree beyond state that I have it when I apply for jobs that require any bachelor’s degree.

I make a big pile more money than plenty of people with fancy math & science degrees, and have 2 kickass cars.

I did fine. And I didn’t have to do any (well, much) math.

Unless you are in a technical degree like Computer science or engineering...what you learn in college doesn’t mean anything. Not in terms of job skills anyway.

But if you are one of those degrees, you come out of college ready for hire, having exactly the skills your job requires.

I wish all majors had it this way. It should be this way.

What do you do btw?
